Italy doesn’t feature many amusement parks, although it has some major ones that are well-known around the world. The major parks in this country are: Gardaland, Mirabilandia and Rainbow Magicland. Furthermore, Italy is home to the well-known rollercoaster and flatride manufacturer; Zamperla. You undoubtedly know this company from the “Disco’o Coasters”, “Thunderbolt” at Coney Island, the many amazing “Air Race” rides and more.
Gardaland situated in the North of Italy, along the edge of “Lake Garda”. The park opened their doors for the first time in 1975. This well-themed nature-filled park has eight roller coasters, some of the most famous coasters they have are the first-ever B&M Wing Coaster called “Raptor” and the 2015 addition; the B&M Dive Coaster “Oblivion – The Black Hole”.
The other big park, Mirabilandia, opened in 1992 and is located at the East coast of Italy, near Ravenna. The park features seven roller coasters. The three largest are the Intamin Blitz Launch Coaster “iSpeed”, one of the world’s largest B&M Inverted Coaster named “Katun” and the highest water ride in the world, built by Intamin, “Divertical”.
The last of the three big parks is settled near Rome, Rainbow Magicland, opening in 2011 it is a relatively new park. From its opening, the park owns five roller coasters. Including 3 large coasters, one family sized coaster, and one kiddie coaster. The most eye-catching one being “Shock”. This is a roller coaster built by “Maurer AG”, and features crazy elements, a launch, and a huge layout through which only an individual 6-seat car rushes to the finish. It’s considered one of the world’s most unique coasters.
Along with this Italy features some more interesting parks, including Zoosafari Fasanolandia and Movieland! They may not have very many parks, but the ones found in Italy are all of high-standards and make for great trips!
